Which is, really, this is not his war. His comments about the good-looking girls makes him sound horribly shallow, with some justification, but it really isn't his war or his problem - and one suspects the Bulgarians might not be too happy if their star Quidditch player goes to take risks in some entirely intra-British conflict that hardly anyone else seems to care about (which is one of the greatest weaknesses of the entire series' plot, but I digress). It's nice of him to show up for the wedding in the first place, all things considered.
