1. Are you currently following any kind of weight loss/fitness plan?
It's not so much a plan, just a habit. But yeah, there's some organizational structure there. I lift a lot of weights and do cardio ~3ish days a week.
2. If so, have you been doing this for a while?
Many moons. I could do the math, but it would be a pain in the ass.
3. How's that working for ya?
It's working out* quite well, for the most part. I injure myself with some frequency, because I usually try to do too much. New rule: running on concrete is just stupid, and our bodies weren't made for it. I mean, I love it - and I'm jealous of people who do it for twenty years with no issues. Unfortunately, I wasn't one of those people.
4. Have any advice? (If you're Tom, you don't need to tell me that I should just run and eat what I want within reason. I apparently have a special kind of chub that is impervious to this plan.
)
)For the most part, I'm a believer in really limiting carbs. I'm not saying cut them all out, but (as far as weight loss and body composition) diet plays a huge role, and refined carbs - and even the good carbs - really aren't the best option for sedentary human beings. So I'm mostly a veggie and protein sort of person, though I definitely carb it up on occasion. Also, the worst thing you can do is to drink your calories, whether in the form of fruit juice, soda, or alcohol. Where I've seen people really lose some weight and keep it off is through recognizing where in their diet they're consuming more calories than they think they are, and that's usually in what they're drinking. Juice is delicious, but it's usually loaded with simple sugars and calories (exception: carrot juice, which is beautiful). Whatever you decide to do, do it, and stick with it for a long period of time. Aristotle's quote about excellence, etc.
5. Would you like to be supported in this endeavor? I've got an excellent guilt-trip.
Yes! I love guilt.
*Accidental pun = awesome.
I cannot even copy his manner because the manner of his prose was the manner of his thinking and that was a dazzling succession of gaps; and you cannot ape a gap because you are bound to fill it in somehow or other -- and blot it out in the process. -- Nabokov

10 kilos is 22 lbs (that's pound, right?) and 17 kilos is 37 lbs.
