Don't get me wrong... I think your self-interest will end up costing you as much as you seem to believe ignoring it and voting for someone who isn't an active criminal in office will.
Believe it or not, a President intent on enriching himself isn't going to leave the economy in great shape. And by setting this precedent for future presidents who will now see the American presidency as a roadway to personal political and material profit to the exclusion of all else, I'm sure you'll have no one to blame when that comes to harm your economy, and thus your economic security.
That is, of course, if Trump wins. If he doesn't, and you get President Sanders, you've earned the right to no sympathy if that hurts you. The blinkered self-interest that led you to support a dishonest man who's good for your pockets will have led to a revolutionary who is at least, for the most part, personally honest. By emphasizing that contrast to Democrats by continuing to support Trump, you've made it easier for them to elevate the left wing of their own party. Their idealogical purity is especially attractive in contrast to Trump's venality, whereas it could easily have been painted as extreme nonsense with a more reasonable Republican opponent.
Enjoy the spoils, either way.
