But it's equally clear that there is no way 1 weak AS could hold a shield on Egwene. Regardless of the difference in strength between Amys and Egwene, Egwene was strong enough to nearly batter down Amys' shield ... and we know that Amys is close to Moiraine in strength.


I agree. Maybe Cadsuane could have held a shield on Egwene once placed, but not your average Aes Sedai or even Moiraine.
