Elayne thinks the reason Egwene is currently stronger than her is because the latter was forced, the implication is that Elayne herself wasn't.


which made it more pronounced. The text makes it clear that all of them were Forced to a degree too ... else they wouldn't have gained so much strength so quickly. Elayne has only been channeling a short while in TDR and she's already gained enough strength to become Accepted, and by TSR she's stronger than most, if not all AS already.

And yeah, Egwene gaining ground on Elayne in strength in the Power due to being a damane for the two months or so during which Elayne hid and barely ever channel, makes sense. Before that, they seemed to be on the same level from the little we saw, both when they met for the first time and when they were about to leave the Tower with Liandrin.

What puzzles me a bit though is that Siuan apologised to Egwene for her forcing, yet as far as we know, hasn't done the same with Elayne or Nynaeve.
