Except the boys are given a metaphysical explanation and the Wondergirls are just given the Magical +10 Protection that Main Characters get in comics, which mean the same thing. It's all semantics to me.
Both dampen any sense of threat or risk to the characters, so I don't see the point of criticizing one main character for being untouchable and perfect when another main character displays the same abilities except with some book explanation.
This is a trait that most main characters have in series such as this and complaining about them just seems to be missing the point IMHO. It seems like a justification for fanboyism.
Oh, and being captured and/or tortured by the Damane, the Seanchan and the Black Ajah seemed like a good amount of challenges to earn some Plot Convenient Invincibility. Honestly, Rand, Mat and Perrin have had it pretty easy next to the women in this series.

Egwene isn't supposed to be a leader. She's a dictator and a politician.

Same thing if Elaida was in charge when meeting w/ Dark Rand. *NM*

Except Rand wouldn't go to the WT with Elaida in charge, without having to fight

Exactly how loyal do you think Nynaeve and Elayne are?

She has the same power base as any Amyrlin - the Aes Sedai, the artisans, Guards & citizens of TV

I would say that in the grand scheme of things, Rand's had good to balance out the bad.
