not sure how it can be more clear than this statement:

"Personally I think those circles needed to be significantly Stronger than an individual Forsaken for the Rand's people to have survived."

ummm... a circle is made up of people the "strength" of the circle is the combined strength of the people in the circle. I was saying that the combined strength of the circle does not have to equal Demandreds strength in order to have a stronger EFFECT than Demandred. Are we on the same page yet.

If Demandreds strength is 95 its sounded like you were saying the circle memebers combined strength had to add up to more than 95 in order to be effective against him. Im saying that the combined strength could be less than 95. They could have been at 65-70 but the effect of the circle would still be able to match or overwhelm a 95.

I specifically noted the circle's strength ... We have no way of knowing how much advantage a circle gives, the individuals could added up to 60 or 150 for all we really know. We can't even accurately guess at anyone in the circle's individual strength. All we know for fact is that Demandred believes the first few weaves Flinn hit him with were as powerful as what Demandred could generate. Those weaves could have been 100% as powerful as Flinns circle could create or 50% as powerful or anywhere else. we have no way of knowing and we know the Forsaken have a tendency to lie to themselves which means those weaves could have been stronger than Demandreds weaves.

the actual strength. potency versus quantity. If you meant potency thats all well and good but there are enough people here who don't believe in potency being different from quantity and so as I said you were not clear. Making thing bold would mean nothing to someone who believed that potency and quantity were equivalent in a circle.

I really hate to bring up strength in the OP, but thankfully it doesn't regard Egwene or any women. - 04/12/2012 06:01:45 AM 1976 Views
