Dead. Seriana Sedai Send a noteboard - 02/11/2009 06:46:10 AM
Alive? Dead? What are your thoughts...

I personally believe that she survived by some weird circumstance. It seems that I had read somewhere that Brandon was supposed to answer the "who killed Asmodean" question in the final three books and seeing as how it was not answered in this one and if Graendal did kill Asmodean, who will reveal it later on. I doubt that she had cohorts in the Asmodean assassination, much less would speak about it in casual conversation with the other Chosen.

Just a couple of thoughts to chew on...

She was one of my favorite Forsaken so I wish she'd had a big moment for herself, but her death is a huge moment in Rand's character progression. So much of the weight of that scene is just gone (in my opinion) if she managed to wiggle out of it.

I think it's fair to say at this point that Graendal did not kill Asmodean. - 02/11/2009 04:36:37 AM 1086 Views

Dead. - 02/11/2009 06:46:10 AM 940 Views
Dead as Dumbledore. But why does it preclude her from being Asmo's killer? - 02/11/2009 07:04:08 AM 1000 Views
Right. That info could easily be revealed through the POV of another. *NM* - 02/11/2009 02:15:31 PM 453 Views

That weave was very complex. - 02/11/2009 10:34:36 PM 895 Views
Actually, the one that Rand had Nynaeve study earlier was more complex. - 04/11/2009 05:11:07 PM 967 Views
But you can't reverse Compulsion by unraveling it, right? - 18/11/2009 10:48:08 PM 920 Views
Almost certainly dead - 02/11/2009 04:48:18 PM 1086 Views
Yeah. Compared to, say, Sammael's "death" - 02/11/2009 10:40:01 PM 1002 Views
Not even almost. Graendal and Sammael now both go well with eggs. *NM* - 03/11/2009 01:51:15 AM 468 Views
Oh, I agree, but fiction, deus ex machina, etc - 04/11/2009 09:58:42 PM 910 Views

Well, unlike everyone else, - 04/11/2009 01:34:57 AM 898 Views
Alive. It's the simplest answer for me, especially considering that Rand knew she was more cunning - 04/11/2009 05:03:38 PM 1101 Views

Here's the rub - she had no desire to come into contact with Rand. - 04/11/2009 10:30:05 PM 1154 Views
Hm. Possible. - 04/11/2009 06:42:12 PM 1199 Views
I think it's the most simple possibility. - 04/11/2009 10:39:02 PM 915 Views

That's just absurd - 04/11/2009 10:48:30 PM 999 Views
No, I'm making it more simple. - 04/11/2009 11:11:36 PM 943 Views
That thoery doesn't account for the undoing of the Compulsion - 04/11/2009 11:50:06 PM 944 Views
Yes, it does. Distance causes maintained weaves and Links to attenuate. - 05/11/2009 04:22:37 PM 1005 Views
Yes, but Compulsion is almost never a maintained weave *NM* - 06/11/2009 07:19:24 PM 490 Views
But the real question in my mind... - 02/12/2009 08:28:31 PM 916 Views
