Egwene has displayed her skill many times (splitting flows 14 ways for instance) ... Nynaeve is a Healer and is hyper specialized... it's been noted over and over that she is "clumsy" or "unskilled" throughout the series. In contrast everyone continually notes on Egwene's amazing level of skill and inherent ability to innovate with the OP.
