"Offered"? She was dragged half way across the world on vague orders, then forced to become a puppet Amyrlin, with the likely result of failure being death. The difference between her and Rand is that instead of allowing herself to be manipulated she took control of her situation. Rand's solution is try and bully everyone around him, and thus alienate everyone. Egwene is at least smart enough to work within the system.

And were is this "life of decadence and greatness"? Thus far she's lived rough out of a tent, been the center of a ridiculous power tug-of-war between the Sitters of her Hall, and subjected to months of beatings in captivity. You think a few nice dresses and some jewelry make her life decadent or great?

And assuming Egwene would actually hold back the support o the WT? Even if you hate the character that much, you can't possibly think there is a plot point to that? The authors can hardly have spend all that time putting her in charge of the AS only to have them sit out because Egwene and Rand are in a tiff.

Hate her all you want, but at least get the facts straight!

The big thing to be upset with her about IMO was allowing herself to be indoctrinated into the Tower so completely, hello 3-Oaths. I hate that she fell for that particular BS! Earlier in the series she so clearly saw the value of Channelers being an active part of their society, now she's truly fallen into the "of a different flesh" mentality.
