...and the killer thing about pride is, you never see it yourself.

I guess this is why I find her flaw more irritating than, say, Rand's temper (which actually does irritate me a fair bit), or Mat's reluctance to actually get things done despite his potential.

And in defence of Nynaeve, I think she's matured pretty well, at least compared to some of the other characters. As with Rand, her flaws are still present to a degree, but again like Rand, her decision-making is more mature and she takes more initiative to get things done. The difference with Egwene is that Egwene's decisions have been far more obvious and logical, and required less effort and sacrifice than Rand's and Nynaeve. So while I still think there's time for Egwene to become a deeper character, she hasn't really attained that yet. She needs some real challenges and some introspection.
