and I tried to take her out of the argument. But here we are.

What is new in any of this? About all that is new is saying we should back the green revolution which some experts argue could be a poison pill for the movement which while I support I see very little likelihood that it bring about real change in Iran in the near future and if anything is more likely in short run to send Iran away from democracy then it is to send it towards democracy..
Sorry but you can't complain when people point out that your strawman is full of straw. I am not the one who brought her into a conversation where she really has no place and who brings nothing to the discussion.
How does saying keep doing what we have been doing with no success answer the question of how Iranian dictators can be stopped and if it does answer the question why bring in the argument that we should be concerned if doesn't work? Sorry but I can’t follow the logic there.

I didn't bring her in either, and I'm honestly done talking about that. I don't care for her either way.
It says to strengthen what we have been doing, for one thing. I can agree with your comment that our support for the Green Movement might not be a good thing for some of their people to see, but that doesn't mean that it's a bad idea for us to focus on the newer generations while we stall the incumbents in this process. The argument about not being so concerned is opposite to what we usually hear, which is more along the lines of FEAR! Fear them, because as soon as they have something substantial, they will ignore the fact that we can vaporize them and attack immediately. Obviously, it's not a fear we can ignore, but I can appreciate his calm and rational voice amongst all the fomenters, because it IS a fear we can work around until violence is the last option.
What do you suggest? That we bomb locations we suspect are working on nuclear technologies, and simply deal with the repercussions of attacking yet another Islamic society, even given the current climate? And with few other countries backing us? How do you see that working out for us (I'm honestly asking)?
