Regardless of your stance on the policies of the school board (no tuxes on girls, partners must be of the opposite sex, etc), saying that they "cancelled the prom so a gay chick couldn't go with her g/f" is a little absurd. You make it sound like a spite filled personal attack, when in reality it was anything but. They cancelled the prom because the school was becoming a media circus, and the ACLU was threatening lawsuits. The school was fast approaching a major administrative crisis, so they threw in the towel and got rid of the whole thing altogether. Seems like a very reasonable (although disappointing for the students) response to the problem.
