(Oh, and I rolled my eyes at your comments on tuxedos and school uniforms, but it's not really relevant right now...)
If it's not relevant, why bring it up? If you're under the impression I think women in tuxedos = bad then you're sort of missing the point. Formal functions have dress codes, people who violate those dress codes without good reason insult both the tradition and the other attendees. Is it a big deal? No, not really, but that cuts both ways, in polite society one does not show up to a traditional funeral wearing cheerful colors and smiling to make some sort of point, nor show up to a wedding wearing flip-flops and shorts when it's specifically against the intent of the bride and groom to protest the concept of marriage. Her desire to violate the dress code and her sexual orientation are two separate issues, her current lawsuit specifically cites the school's canceling the prom as a violation of her right to freely express herself by wearing a tuxedo... this is why I keep saying her actions should not be considered totally pristine white. If she is just trying to win a fight to bring her girlfriend to the prom, she should just wear a dress instead of engaging in a two-pronged offensive.
The intuitive mind is a sacred gift and the rational mind is a faithful servant. We have created a society that honors the servant and has forgotten the gift.
