Oh wow..we figure out who killed asmodean by seeing him again and someone having to rekill him, and thus it must be Grendal who killed him. HA! That would be unbelievably hillarious.

Graendal is dead... the whole test Rand used to prove it was ingenious. She was known for her complex weaves of complusion which proves nearly conclusively that she was in the manor, and when she was bale-fired the complex weaves vanished from the guys brain... that is conclusive proof that she is dead, similar to the way Rand balefired Rahvin who killed Matt and Aviendha is Caemlyn.

Well, it's proof that whoever created the Compulsion - almost certainly Graendal - is dead, but there's a tiny amount of wriggling space there for her to survive.

A bigger question for me is, given how much power Rand drew through the Choeden Kal to balefire the whole palace, how far back was Graendal's thread burned from the pattern? Is Alsalam still alive? If she killed Asmodean (which I think is very likely) could it have burned back far enough that he's now alive again? This seems implausible but not impossible, though that would make a heck of a mess of the pattern.

I think it's fair to say at this point that Graendal did not kill Asmodean. - 02/11/2009 04:36:37 AM 885 Views

Dead as Dumbledore. But why does it preclude her from being Asmo's killer? - 02/11/2009 07:04:08 AM 805 Views

Actually, the one that Rand had Nynaeve study earlier was more complex. - 04/11/2009 05:11:07 PM 792 Views

Almost certainly dead - 02/11/2009 04:48:18 PM 885 Views
Yeah. Compared to, say, Sammael's "death" - 02/11/2009 10:40:01 PM 793 Views

Yes, it does. Distance causes maintained weaves and Links to attenuate. - 05/11/2009 04:22:37 PM 779 Views
