Some of the things PP are being accused of are pretty serious and have the potential to be very embarrassing to people associated with them. Among other things they are being accused of not following reporting laws that require health care providers to report cases of child abuse. If a fourteen year shows up pregnant and says the father is thirty that is a crime and most states require it be reported as such. They are also being accused of providing underage abortion with parental consent in states that require it. They are also being accussed of something that hits close to Rcae For the Cure, they are being accussed of using funds for abortions that were earmarked for other things. If that were to turn out to be true then the "none of our money is used for abortion" argument gets weak in a hurry.

It doesn't matter if these are just isolated cases where a few local people practiced bad judgment or not. It won't matter if the video was edited to make it seem worse than it really was unless the video is an outright lie. The right wing activists have learned that if you throw enough mud it will stick. With today’s new media it is becoming the practice of both sides to try and smear the other with edited video. Right now PP has a huge target on its back and there are right to life activist doing everything they can to get video making them look bad. With that many people gunning for them being in bed with PP is a dangerous for an orginzation that depends on its good image to raise money.

These sorts of tactics are disgusting but effective. In fact the same people who took down ACORN are now going after PP hard. The defenders of PP parent will point out that the people making the video are serial mud slingers with a history of heavily edited videos but if they have video of a Planned Parenthood advisor telling a fourteen year old to lie about how she got pregnant none of that will mater. Of course PP knows they are coming after them and they are hopefully being careful but still the odds of them becoming toxic in a hurry are significantly above zero.
