Not sure he showed us how they can be deterred random thoughts Send a noteboard - 23/02/2010 01:56:42 PM
It is hard to take any foreign policy article seriously when it starts with the words Sarah Palin but I really don't see much here that isn't simply saying what we have been hearing for years. The article seems to suggest that we should just learn to live with a nuclear armed Iran more then it suggests we can stop them.

I don't think the North Korean comparison is valid. For one thing North Korea is contained by two very powerful nations that they have zero chance of moving against and one of whom they have been very dependent on for decades. Iran on the other hand has multiple neighbors who can and should fear nuclear armed Iran.

North Korea has made some profit off terrorism but Iran has a history of funding and supporting terrorist groups and that includes training them and providing them with arms. North Korea with nuclear weapons scares people but they are isolationist who are mostly concerned with keeping their little fiefdom intact and keeping their grip on their population while Iran is a eager to be a player in regional not to mention international politics. Sorry but I don’t think his arguments are valid even when you use the “it most be right because it isn’t what Sarah Palin wants” argument.
