no simple statement of fact. Despite what you friend said Chicago does not unpoliced areas.
How about a give him two guns that look exactly a like and then he can decide whether or not he will shoot you. You will just have to guess if he is going to point it at you because once he does it is to late.
We can make it even more fun. I will let you hold a gun and I will holster one. You can't do anything until I move. Unless I miss you lose and not because am that fast but people just don't react fast enough. By the time your brain says I am moving and sends a signal to you arm to react I have already pulled the trigger.
Look at how it take you push your break pedal. If you know it is coming you can do it in .7 seconds. That is just to move your foot. I decently trained shooter and draw and in about the same amount of time. If they already have the gun in their hand it about half a second. If you are pointing the gun at them with your finger on the trigger it take about .4 seconds to respond and fire.
Take into account the once you commit to one of these actions the response time stop it just as great and you start to get an idea of how fast the policer officer has to react if he wants to home to his family that night. There isn't time to determine age or if it is a real gun and even if you realize after they reach for the gun that they are not going to draw and shoot there isn't time to change your action.
It amazes how many people who know so little about the issue have such strong and aggressive opinions.
Europe was trying to be nice. Things go down from there.
