that while yes the FBI did indeed investigate Anita Hill's allegations against Clarence Thomas, their findings were inconclusive. And that was for an incident only 10 years in the past at the time of the charges. The Senate Judicial Committee then voted 7-7 on the nomination, split mostly along Party lines, but sent the nomination to the full Senate anyway for a final vote. The entire process resolved nothing and remains just as divisive today as it was in 1991, if not more so.
Do you really expect anything different today? I'm not arguing for or against the investigation, rather I'm stating that unless Kavanaugh withdraws or is disqualified, which is the only outcome the Democrats will accept, it will resolve nothing.
