Rape Apology?
1) I'm not a rape apologist. And shame on you for saying that (even in quasi-jest)
It wasn't in jest at all. It was used in a non-serious context, but I'm perfectly serious on the rape apology part.
So? You didn't defend just this instance of attempted rape in your post. You made a general statement.
Well, I was giving you the benefit of the doubt. I didn't know if you were speaking passive-agressively, or in jest. And as I didn't want to make an unfair characterization of you (as you do of me), I took the path that doesn't do that. Now I stand corrected. This woman was not raped. Characterizing it as such is dishonest to people who have actually been raped.
My general statement was along the lines that there are worse things out there than rape. That doesn't downplay the severity of rape, but instead puts it on a gradient of evil actions.
I didn't apologize for it at all. For you to characterize it as such does a great disservice to me. You don't know me. You don't know what I've walked through, healed from, and forgiven. So don't characterize me. You aren't in a position to do so.
