If a Pléiade edition says that it is "broché" instead of "relié", what is that going to look like? The things are still damn expensive and I'm trying to figure out how they justify it.
That ought to be a mistake on the site, they're all the same and they're all bound the same way (even their yearly album which is just bigger - it's a nice coffee table book about the new author introduced that year, but those are in-store only (that I've ever noticed) gift during their annual promotion period. All volumes are 20% off for a month (the same one they release the new book) and you need to buy 2 or 3 volumes to get the album. They're pretty sought after, supplies never last for very long).
Can someone explain to me how Jordan is not a particularly good writer?

I personally see it as more of RJ being a fantastic story teller, but not a well structured writer.
