It was funny that Katerine's face paled - considering she is Black Ajah. Perhaps she was paling thinking of a future victory?


This scene shows that even dedicated Darkfriends begin to realize that it maybe won't be very pleasant for any human , but actually a nightmare, if the DO wins. But of course most DF are simply too ensnared in the Shadow to just leave this side at this point.

I think Alviarin herself may be at this point: she saw her commander punished by a still greater commander, and now when confronted by the prospect of Elaida pulling a Mordeth and destroying the Tower without any help from her, she might really be considering that she may not have a reward at all besides to serve for all time.

How do you really come back to the Light after committing so many atrocities that you, quite frankly, don't want to be punished for? Coming back seems to require seeking actual forgiveness and judgement, and the Darkfriend M.O. is running away from those things.


It's a theme I'm enjoying - RJ showing that evil isn't cool. The Forsaken are learning the harshest lesson. They're being beaten up by Moridin and Shadar Haran from their own side, and Rand from the other. I'll bet they wish they never turned :D


I'm of the opinion that when some of the Forsaken realize that Moghidien and Lanfear have been mindtrapped, and compared to how bad things are going to be...we'll see a high profile switch at the very last minute.
Remember that bit about no one can be so far in the Shadow that they cannot come back to the Light?
