i'd consider this a valid argument if cadsuane were the one who "guided" him to cleanse saidin or even gave him the idea. she just tagged along for the ride, offering up her help - that's not really "guidance"

Not with the actual process of cleansing, but without her directing the defense the whole thing would have failed miserably, end result of the Choedan Kal in Moridin's hands; Rand either dead or prisoner and Nynaeve and Lan dead. Rand basically said "I'm going to do this" but he had no thought as to what would happen while he was defenseless. It was Cadsuane who directed the defense and made the successful Cleansing possible.

NaCl(it was totally a group effort and Caddy's planning was as important as Rand's)H2O
