Asmodean is further proof that your theory on Forsaken skill is unconvincing. Much like Moghedien/Nynaeve, Rand overwhelmed Asmodean despite having the same strength and no training.
that is a joke to be clear!
Asmodean and Moghedien are clearly the least skilled of the Forsaken ... or perhaps just the laziest ... and RJ made some very bad choices in this part of the series ... IMO it's these two examples that are the primary reason the Forsaken as a whole seem so silly. Here we have people who are supposed to be the among the most skilled people of the Age and they don't even try to do anything interesting ... epic fail IMO. But in RJs defense, he needed to illustrate how strong Rand and Nynaeve are and he couldn't very well have them get their asses handed to them by a Forsaken!
I think the Cleansing scene with Cyndane/Alivia was an attempt to make up for that a bit.
