She would never have shown him her real hideout. The "palace" clearly isn't Natrin's Barrow, but that does NOT indicate that she wasn't at Natrin's Barrow in any way. The other palace was just a ruse to fool Sammael (and perhaps Ituralde as well).
Plus your point about Compulsion actually verifies Graendal's presence - who else could weave such complex Compulsion on Ramshalan? It may not have been subtle but it was clearly complex enough to shock Nynaeve.
