The world needs to decide how it feels about non-proliferation.

I've seen a number of our posters take an increasingly popular position (which, incidentally, is Ahmadinejads also: ) "America has nukes, and they're the only ones who've ever used them; if they don't have to disarm, why should anyone else be barred from arming?" I suspect Pakistan will answer that question shortly; if they don't, North Korea will probably start extorting Japan instead.
Point being, the "fallout" (poor choice of words
) from another US invasion vs. a nuclear Iran depends on where you sit, and how far you look. The more America acts preemptively and unilaterally the more difficult coalition building becomes, because there are more and more cases where dissenters will say, "but we'll never know what would've happened if America hadn't intervened. " Perhaps they need to find out for themselves. Realistically the only relevance to us depends on what it does to the price of oil and whether we get sucked into a war defending Israel (which seems unlikely; if Iran hits Israel with a nuke they'll get hit back a lot harder. ) As for what we'd do if they get into Lebanon, well, when terrorist suicide bombed our Marine barracks there we left the country.
