One of the most interesting things in the series (for me anyway) will be whether the black ajah hunt is resolved first or if the Seanchan attack the White Tower first.

1. If the Seanchan attack first, this could throw a major wrench into the black ajah hunt. Anything could happen with the black ajah hunt, depending on who dies, who gets collared, who flees, etc. This is particularly so because the Seanchan are almost certainly going to capture or kill Elaida (the foreshadowing has been there for so long).

2. If the black ajah hunt is resolved first, and assuming Alviarrin is exposed, then Elaida might be able to put the blame for (at least some) of the troubles in the White Tower on Alviarrin. This could strengthen Elaida's position because Elaida could take credit for the exposure and downfall of the black ajah (Elaida ordered Pevara to hunt for them). Many sisters might be willing to look past some (or most or all) of Elaida's shortcomings if she manages to bring down the entire black ajah (and I have no doubt Elaida would try to claim responsibility for their downfall).

Which of the two events above occurs first changes everything.


"Towers of Midnight" suggests in any case that the WT plot won't be completely resolved until then, and that especially the Seanchan attack won't happen until book 13 (though there are of course also some other Towers the title likely refers to).

But since Jason said that Egwene's plot-line has a climax at the end of TGS with a special and surprising decision made by her, Egwene might already become Amyrlin or at least finally openly confront Elaida, so that Elaida orders her execution at the end of TGS (though this actually wouldn't be that surprising, IMO).

Personally I believe at the moment that at first the BA hunt will be resolved and then the Seanchan attack. We'll see.
