After Egwene spoils the soup onto the rug, Elaida states:
"That rug is worth more than your entire village, wilder."

That simply can't be true. On the other hand, we know that Elaida isn't BA and that she is bound by the Three Oaths. So, it seems to be a mistake. Or are such obvious exaggerations actually allowed by the Oath?


Rugs can be VERY expensive (and the new Elaida only flies First Class).

Emond's Field, on the other hand, is not. The boys went crazy for a silver mark that Moiraine gave them. And there have been references scattered throughout the books about how much farmland a Crown of gold can buy.
