The fact that this damage occurs to the Pattern all at once is the real danger.


Interesting idea.

So it would be ok(well in comparison) to balefire one person here, another there and slowly balefire 300 people, giving the pattern a chance to recover so to speak.

But balefiring all those people at once, in a single blow causes more damage. That does seem quite reasonable and possible actually.


Still, could Moridin not get around that limitation in other ways?

All he would need to do is capture 300 people. Not that hard for a channeler of his immense strength. Use compulsion and make them all stand in a single line. Blast a single bar of balefire through all of them at once.

I mean it does sound a bit strange, but I see no reason why it would not work? :)
