If so, I disagree with you. If you have them all write IQ tests I'm pretty sure that the quantum physicists, theoretical mathematicians etc will trump the philosophers and theologians.

IQ tests are notoriously unreliable measures of human intelligence. Still, I understand what you are saying. There are many types of intelligence. Mathematicians could work out equations that philosphers could never dream of doing.

However, I do think Ishamael is the most intelligent man in the series. He could see things no one else could, which is ultimately why he was caught up in a web of complex thoughts and was killed by a relatively uneducated farmer.

Ishamael's theories on the Dragon and other aspects of the Wheel of Time are often referred to by the other Forsaken. The only other Forsaken who is referred to for academic reasons by other Forsaken is Graendal - who is also renowned for her almost unique intelligence. It's remarkable that RJ said that Lews Therin's IQ was close to 200, and yet LTT thinks that he could never outfox Graendal.

The Forsaken's inability to comprehend what Ishamael was saying has been as close as we've ever seen to Forsaken admitting fallability. Despite his failures he's remained the DO's top servant, which signifies to me that he really does understand that DO and the Creator better than any other person alive.
