Dr. Blasey isn't asking to be believed on the strength of her word. She wants an investigation. It is the Republicans who are forcing the process to depend on her word alone. They won't even subpoena the man she said witnessed and participated during the event. A man who, I should note, has gone into hiding, has flipped his story once already, and whose ex-girlfriend says was involved in at least one incidence of having sex with an inebriated woman when he was in school.
