would you be if someone came out of no where and accused you of "attempted rape"? You had heard nothing about anything of this nature for the last 36 years. No one had made any accusations. No one had brought up anything with the authorities. You've been in public service requiring background checks for your professional life, and nothing of this nature at all had ever in any way, shape, or form come up.

This woman has absolutely no proof, yet the media has already declared her statement as truth. This woman is inconsistent with details, yet you have public figures calling you a rapist. And now you have people tossing due process and presumption of innocence right out the window in favor of placating the mob with their version of justice. There are people who want to destroy your entire career on the unfounded allegations of someone.

How would you react? Can you really fault him for defending himself?
