RJ never really explains how it interacts with the OP, but direct use of the OP against it just makes it "harder".
It would stand to reason that the armor would offer protection to some greater or lesser effect against direct OP assault (exploding heads from Ashaman, or Aes Sedai fireballs) and would offere some sort of protection from even indirect assault due to its natural properties (non-conductive, resistant to traumatic impact, etc.) Not saying that an individual channeller couldn't stop a swordsman in full cuendillar plate, helm, and shield 1 on 1, but a group that were so equipped would be much more resistant to the efforts of a channeler trying to stop them with the standard OP indirect effects used in battles.
Even the deathgates and arrows of fire that Rand and Logain used in the big trollock battle would be of greatly reduced effectiveness.
**side note for discussion/speculation, can the edge of a gateway cut cuendillar?
