Together it makes a pretty much irrefutable case that the Bell Curve can only fit if the average strength female is around Egwene's level and all modern Aes Sedai fall well below average.


Possibly silly question from someone who hasn't paid too much attention to the strength discussions: Why do you call it a Bell-curve if almost everyone is in the bottom half? And when you say that almost everyone is below average, how is that possible? Shouldn't almost everyone be, you know, average?


Everyone today is below average. Because channelers are weaker today.

In other words, the Bell Curve would apply symmetrically to the channeling population of the Age of Legends. The remnants that are left today, on the other hand, mostly come from the bottom part of that Bell Curve.
