Well, I admit I was wrong when I started the thread, but just to clarify this particular issue only.

The DO probably realises that you are dead the instant you die. It is just that since balefire causes you to die in the past this does not help.

The point is time is the issue that stops the DO from bringing you back. Balefire does not destroy souls.
