What I meant by "could not completely rid the world of evil" was that even if 'dark' Rand beat the Dark One, the world would still not be free of evil. Why would the Seanchan victory be bad? Because they are evil (or at least oppressive). Similarly Rand would cause so much turmoil and sacrifice so much, break the world to a million peices, all for the one goal of fighting the Dark One, that winning would be as bad as losing

Thank goodness he went to Dragonmount and had a major flashback...
