Remember what The Neil said: "GRRM is not your bitch!" *NM* Artsapat Send a noteboard - 18/09/2009 07:32:47 AM
We got half of a book when he published A Feast for Crows. He gutted half of the plotlines and saved the rest for a second book that is now taking the name of what was supposed to be the last book in the series. The book that was originally going to be A Dance With Dragons is now one or more books with no title as of yet.

A Feast for Crows was a disappointing book because some of peoples' favorite characters just weren't in it. In fact, it's safe to say that the LEAST popular characters were all bunched into A Feast for Crows, while the most popular are all, so he says, in A Dance With Dragons. Now granted, he's taken this long with a book that was supposedly structurally done back when A Feast for Crows came out.

I understand that he's under no obligation, blah, blah, blah, but he has managed to really piss a lot of people off with the way he's handled things, plus the way that he lets people know he goes off to conventions and writes other books, all while his next book languishes.

I'm sure Tor is bitching him out, but unless HBO makes it a condition that he finishes the series in a set time frame in order to pick up the pilot for Ice and Fire, he may just drag the series out for another ten years (or more).

After all, I've been reading Robert Jordan since 1993. 16 years later and I'm waiting for the antepenultimate book in the series and the writer is dead.
The mystery deepens... I think. *MySmiley*
