Or we can choose to assume Elayne is incorrect darius_sedai Send a noteboard - 11/01/2016 03:50:14 PM

in her assumption that Nynaeve could "do better still"

It's also possible that an angreal offers a fixed amount of saidar increase so that Moiraine's bracelet gives her 85 saidar bringing her to 86.5 when she uses it, and making Lanfear 185 when she picked it up and that the difference between she and Rand at the docks was more about her skill and speed and her inherent dexterity making the advantage more in Lanfears favor (i.e. she would be closer to a 225 male with the dexterity advantage). This would still keep the little fat man angreal fairly normal in what it offered Rand's strength, perhaps it offered him 50-75 saidin based on this model or even as much as 100, which would make shielding 7 average women somewhat feasible, if not a guarantee.

However, the turtle that Elayne used to become 2x Nynaeve would need to offer roughly 105 saidar for this model to work with the text in the books, and would in this case make the turtle more powerful than the bracelet, which seems very unlikely, but I suppose it's possible that Elayne just really doesn't know what "strong v. normal" is for angreal.
