The body would do so just fine. The problem with Shadowspawn is that they don't have a Soul in the same sense as humans. My guess is that they have some warped "Shadow Soul" that isn't compatible with the Wheel.


That's wrong on all counts. Shadowspawn get souls from the soul pool, like other constructs. The difference between them and Nyms (another construct) is that a Nym's soul return to the soul pool and can be reborn as human, while a Shadowspawn soul gets so twisted it's unfit to be reborn as human or animal and can only be reborn as Shadowspawn. This is all dixit Q&A by RJ.

It's not only constructs made by the Shadow that can't use Gateways, RJ said Nyms couldn't either.

As for Fain, he's not a construct. The question might be if he could pass a gateway without Mordeth's soul being forced out of his body, but we're in highly speculative territory there as it's possession and has strictly nothing to do with Constructs.
