No, you really don't need to read it. Believe it or not I am trying very hard to enjoy the story, especially in light of the circumstances that lead me to the author. I want to like it. I really do, but so far it is garbage. This reads more like a second draft than a finished product. It is written in a form that I, generally speaking, do not like (1st person retrospective). However looking past the purely subjective viewpoint perspective it is not a plesant read. Nor, up to this point has it been very cohesive. The continuity errors ahve been rather glaring as well. This is only in the first 40 pages.
As for my sarcasm, I'm really not trying very hard to be sarcastic. Actually, I am making a bit of an effort in the opposite direction.
If I had come accross this book in any other circumstance, I would not continue reading it. This could well rival The Invisible Man for last place in my literary pantheon. I tore the pages out of that book as I read them to help preserve future generations.
