this dude needs to get over himself. he just couldn't shake off everyone's tolkein comparison's he had heard beforehand and so was unable to give it a chance to enjoy it anyway. too bad he missed out on enjoying one of the best books to come out in some time. frankly i always thought tolkein sucked. i couldn't read thru that crap at all. jordan just grabs a reader and doesn't put them down for 7 or 8 books, a couple *sniff chapters aside :D .

i guess the legions of fans and massive amounts of sales and reprints doesn't reflect on the content at all. i guess we're just not as sophisticated as dear mister roberts and can't see how bad these books are. thank God he's here for us. i'd hate to think i've put so much energy into reading, rereading, and talking about something that's not very good.

oh gee what do i care anyway. some critic i never heard of taking pot shots at something he'll never come close to equaling.

PFFT i say!


Now how about reading some of his fiction and non-fiction and then weigh in with more insight? ;)
