What I saved was part of a MST3K-type approach. I posted it to show how sarcasm could be used as a way of pointing out flaws in a work. CoT was not exactly a well-paced story and it certainly is a model for girth at the expense of narrative quickness/development. I think Roberts in the same way used sarcasm to point out perceived problems with the first two novels in terms of the story not feeling all that different from the umpteen trilogies that had been published beforehand. I've read a very serious critical review he did of a non-fiction work that I also reviewed and he certainly can highlight points of contention well when he chooses, so I would just merely argue that I wouldn't dismiss his critiques just because of the snark he likes to add to some of his posts on his personal blog
